Katharine S. Walker

Katie Walker has worked in the legal profession since 1998. She began as a receptionist and secretary for partner, Jerry Miller, while attending college at UNC-Charlotte. After graduating UNC-Charlotte in 2005, Katie became a paralegal and office manager for Jerry's law firm. Katie graduated from Charlotte School of Law and passed the North Carolina Bar Exam in 2011. In 2012, Katie accepted a partner position at Miller, Walker & Austin, Attorneys at Law, and continues to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm. She was admitted to practice in South Carolina in February, 2013.

Katie practices general law with an emphasis on commercial real estate, business contracts, corporate law, and estate planning. Katie has incorporated over one hundred new corporations in North and South Carolina. She has drafted easements, negotiated and settled boundary line disputes, and assisted clients with various processes involving the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR). She has represented buyers and sellers of business sales/acquisitions valued at over $500,000. Katie has closed commercial real estate purchases, refinances, and construction loans in excess of $1.5 million each.

In her spare time, Ms. Walker enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying fit, attending local art events and live music shows.
